| Overview |
If you've done some paddling before and want to develop more skills, then this is the course for you, as it allows you to practice on weirs and move to a grade II, III or IV. And you will do it paddling one of the most exciting tropical rivers of South America.
This course takes more account of both physical performance and skill level. It puts stress upon acquiring and maintaining an appropriate technique. More experience and better technique means more stability and better hydrodynamics.
This level includes learning different rescue techniques from the kayak. It also involves learning to navigate with different weather conditions. This course is designed for enthusiastic beginners who want to learn quickly or people with some previous experience.
The course is conducted in a fun way, always in river action, and we make attention to details regarding the assimilation of knowledge and skills required to traverse a river with more turbulent waters and fast continuous. We have the experience to individualize your instruction. Meanwhile, you will enjoy the beautiful wet subtropical landscapes of the Amazon basis of Ecuador.
* You will have a professional instructor by your side at all times
* You will learn how to read the river currents and how to take the waves in your kayak.
* Roll a kayak [ Eskimo Roll ] training.
* Basic River Rescue techniques.
* Paddling style is emphasized in this training.
* You have two options for Kayak classes: Two days and Four days
* Four day training is recommended. More time practicing with an expert makes a big difference in your style and comfort.
* Training intensity is tuned to your comfort level. If you are a natural we might be running rapids that afternoon!
* We start with flat water and we end the training with an II+/ III river section.
* Each day you will have a riverside lunch. |

| • Day 1: Caoni River |
A couple of hours from the city of Quito we find the Caoni River rising in the mountains west of the Ecuadorian Andes. With crystal clear waters and unique beauty, we will get to the starting point to begin your instruction by improving kayaking and rowing management techniques.
08h00 Departures from Quito to the River Caoni.
11h00 – 13h00 Practices kayak.
• Introductory talk: Welcome and recommendations
• Safety standards: threats and how to solve
• Reading the River.
• Organization of a downturn, the drop strategy.
• Implementation of rescue systems.
• Analysis of an accident.
13h00 – 15h00 Kayak on the river Caoni.
15h00 Lunch.

| • Day 2: Baba River |

The second day will continue with the acquisition of knowledge in other river in the region: the Baba River is a tributary of the great White River which flows into the Pacific Ocean, the river flows through a variety of ecosystems with different exotic flora and fauna. It is considered by scientists as a laboratory for global genetic study, an ideal place to improve our kayaking skills while photographing and filming aspects of nature that has never been observed.

• Different paddling techniques, forward and backwards paddling, turns, eddies entries, anticipatory movements, wet departures, safety, what to do if you capsize, and much more.
14h00 Lunch. Travel to the Mitad del Mundo (the Middle of the World)
16h00 Visit to the Inti ñan museum.
