Overview

Traversing the Andes on horseback is one of the best ways to experience the Ecuadorian High Lands culture while getting to know its magnificent landscapes. We have some proposals to ride through beautiful hills and volcanoes. The traveler can choose to ride a couple of hours driving around agricultural landscapes or choose the longer and specialized trips that can last several days.

The rides run through the majestic wilderness of the Cotopaxi area and always are lead by native guides. One can perceive a mix of legend, history and tradition there.

The journey takes us close to herds of wild horses and bulls. One can also observe several species of birds like Condors and native flora surrounded by a breathtaking landscape. During the rides we get to 4.200 m/13,780 ft. of altitude near the summit of Rumiñahui volcano, where the view of the perfect cone of Cotopaxi is unique and incomparable. After each day full of natural wonders, the expedition returns to the ranch house, where a fireplace and a hot drink will be waiting for you.

For each ride the traveler will have the necessary equipment to make the daily trip, consisting of sheepskin and wool poncho (leather trousers) Chagra style (cowboy of the Ecuadorian Andes). All riders will experience full of unique moments to contemplate one of the best moorland and volcanic areas of Ecuador and of the South American Andes.
