Itinerary

Detailed Itinerary
• Day 1: Pasochoa
Horseback Riding EcuadorThe ride starts at the Hacienda Santa Rita Private Reserve at 3300 m altitude. After a lesson in how to ride a horse (only who needs it), we ride through native forest to reach the moor lands of Pasochoa. During the tour we will enjoy beautiful landscapes and snow-capped mountains that surround us. Upon reaching the base of the rock, we can do a short hike to the summit at 4.200 m / 13,776 ft.  We return to Hacienda Santa Rita where a vehicle will be waiting to transfer us to the Hacienda El Porvenir, where we expect a nice dinner and where we spend the night.
• Day 2: Rumiñahui
Horseback Riding Ecuador Pioneer JourneysWe head to the slopes of the extinct volcano Rumiñahui, riding horses adapted to this habit, through unique paths, surrounded by a mix of legend and history. On the way we see herds of wild bulls, birds in the area and a wonderful panorama of the Andean highlands. We are approaching rocky peak of Rumiñahui from where, with some luck you can observe the majestic Andean Condor. Also we visit the shelter Owl Chusigmachai before returning to the ranch house. Dinner and overnight at the El Porvenir.
• Day 3: Cotopaxi National Park-El Tambo
Horseback RidingWe start our ride from Hacienda El Porvenir to Hacienda El Tambo Quilindaña, which is located in the eastern mountains. During the ride we visited the Pucara del Salitre, an ancient Inca fortress, always guarded by the impressive Cotopaxi. The ride gives us the opportunity of a diverse landscape, mountain rivers, lakes, water to highlight the importance of this ecosystem heath. Upon reaching the ranch house in El Tambo, guests enjoy a traditional dinner, sheltered by fireplaces.
• Day 4: Quilindaña
Horseback RidingWe walk through the foothills of Quilindaña, an ancient extinct volcano millions of years ago. The ride goes across the plains and the foothills of the beautiful peak of 4.878 m / 15,999 ft, where you can still find pristine forests of native trees like the polilepis. From there and we fit into a magical landscape of enchanted forests, full of mosses, lichens and bromeliad flowers. After visiting the forest and hear the legends of the region, we return to the Hacienda El Tambo, where a delicious dinner awaits us. Overnight at Hacienda El Tambo.
• Day 5: Tambo - Porvenir
Horseback RidingEarly in the morning we begin our journey back to civilization. Following the river Tambo at the base of Cotopaxi, we will take the high road, used by the residents of the area to Chirimachai. Cross the grand goffering Curipugyo (place of gold in Quichua), where you can see evidence of ancient volcanic eruptions. On the way back to El Porvenir, again we cross the Cotopaxi National Park for a spectacular and panoramic route. We arrive at the Hacienda El Porvenir, where we took the vehicle back to Quito.
